  • Summary: The Charter requires all members to produce annual reports, have written statues, and be financially and politically independent. The organisations must be dedicated to international development, human rights promotion and poverty alleviation. Furthermore, members are expected to strive for high organisation standards and fulfill a complementary advocacy role within France. There is no mention of compliance or sanctioning mechanisms. Coordination Sud has created an Ethics and Transparency working group that is currently developing a toolkit on transparency and makes recommendations to the Board of Coordination SUD on the modalities of their application. The objective of the working group on ethics and transparency is to facilitate and coordinate
    developing proposals to enable NGOs to implement approaches transparency vis-à-vis their stakeholders and take account of the ethics in their practices and in their decision making. The working group meets three to four times a year.
