Trustees PDF Print E-mail

The Trustees aim to maintain a Board of no less than nine and no more than fifteen members to ensure its efficient running. Trustees serve for one renewable term of five years and no longer than ten years. The Chair is appointed by the Board for an initial term of three years, also renewable once. Trustees are recruited through a combination of individual search and public advertisement about every two years. The Board includes the Honorary Treasurer and meets four times a year with a quorum of four, joined by the Executive Director and other staff as agreed by the Chair and Director.

The Financial & General Purposes subcommittee of the Board is responsible for the detailed oversight of the Trust’s budget, finances, risk management, review of the staff salary scale and related subjects.

The Governance Sub-committee of the Board has delegated authority to conduct the selection process for new Trustees, and the appraisal of the composition of the Board and of individual Trustees. It also advises on the composition of the Vice-Presidents body and the International Advisory Panel.

Both sub-committees consist of three Trustees each and are advised by the Director.
